Be careful to limit your use of quotes, as they can jar the reader’s focus from your writing. If possible, cite your quotes with the person’s full name and formal title.

Depending on the type of news you’re reporting, you may need to include a table or graphic to illustrate your points. This can be especially helpful if you’re describing a series of events or presenting data that’s difficult to understand through text alone. Finally, don’t forget to proofread your work for accurate information, consistent tone and proper formatting.
